STATUE OF JOHN LENNON / LA ESTATUA DE JOHN LENNON
Statue of John Lennon. It was raised in honour of the member of the Beatles, to remember his stay in Almería in 1966, where he composed the song “Strawberry Fields Forever” during the shooting of the anti-war film “Como gané la Guerra”. It is situated in La Rambla and it shows John Lennon playing a Spanish guitar. However, the statue has been damaged and Lennon’s glasses have been removed several times.
